Privileges

The privileges of a holder of an Instrument Rating (IR) are to fly aircraft under IFR (Instrument Flight Rules), including Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) operations, with a minimum decision height of no less than 200 feet (60 m).In the case of a multi-engine IR, these privileges may be extended to decision heights lower than 200 feet (60 m) when the applicant has undergone specific training at an Approved Training Organization (ATO).

Entry requirements

Hold a valid Private Pilot License (PPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued under EASA Part-FCL.

Hold a valid Class 1 or Class 2 medical certificate with an audiometry endorsement.

Demonstrate proficiency in English (at least ICAO Level 4).

Have completed at least 50 hours of cross-country flight time as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).

Training course

Theoretical Training:

Minimum 150 hours of ground school instruction.
Preparation for the IR theoretical examinations conducted by the aviation authority.

Flight Training:

Minimum 50 hours of instrument flight training (40 hours may be conducted in an approved flight simulator).
Training focuses on IFR procedures, en-route navigation, instrument approaches, missed approaches, and emergency procedures.
Practical flight training conducted in a certified single-engine aircraft equipped for IFR operations.

Complition

Applicants for an IR shall pass a skill test to demonstrate the ability to perform the relevant procedures and maneuvers with a degree of competency appropriate to the privileges granted.
For a multi-engine IR, the skill test shall be taken in a multi-engine aircraft.
For a single-engine IR, the test shall be taken in a single-engine aircraft.

The Instrument Rating training course is designed to provide pilots with the skills necessary to operate an aircraft under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).
The course focuses on enhancing flight safety by enabling pilots to fly in low-visibility conditions, navigate using instruments, and manage complex airspace procedures efficiently.
